Some Really Cute Kids

Both kids-- bathed, dressed, and happy.
Totally picture worthy.

And here's Emerson working on a few of her latest tricks...

Must reach toes... at all times.
And then put them in my mouth...

... and sitting on my own.
Again... must reach toes and put into my mouth.

And now I will lie on my back and again... reach for my toes.

And then I will flip onto my tummy and yell for Mommy to rescue me.
Over and over and over again...

And on Saturday night I had a couple of other cute little kids
fall asleep in my bed.
They looked so adorable fast asleep that I just had to snap a picture...

These two kids seem so grown up to me nowadays. But when they're asleep I can remember how they looked as little babies. Awwww...

Hey Big Girl

Unlike her brother, Emerson is getting a little bit too big for her britches.
It was a two person job to get these skinny jeans in place this morning... but it was sooooo worth it!

Does she mind?  Doesn't look like it :)

Mixing it Up

Today we pulled out one of my favorites... the cute little plaid number (previously seen here).

We decided to switch it up a bit with some ruffle bottom tights.

And now we're wearing this...  Hooray for Sunday nap time!!

The Non-Nap Weekend

Hey Chubby Cheeks.

Yup, she's my chubby baby.
At her 4 month shots, Emerson weighed in at 15 lbs 12 oz.
Today she was wearing a bit of a fancy dress, so we decided to casual it up with some jegs and a cute little toque.  Look at how excited she was about her outfit.

This weekend was the non-nap weekend.  Our choice, not Caleb's-- we were out and about for most of Saturday and Sunday.   He actually asked if he could go to sleep a few times.  Funny kid.  He still naps for 2-3 hours each afternoon... I'm not about to tell him that it's abnormal for a 3 year old.

But we were busy this weekend!  While we were at home Caleb enjoyed working on his letters.

We decided to make an impromptu trip across the border for some shopping.  Caleb ate a piece of pizza that was bigger than his head.  He has a big head.  It was a very large piece of pizza.

We spent this afternoon at our friend's farm.  Caleb visited the cows.

He also got to drive a tractor.  With help.

And now we're finally home and the kids are sleeping.  Bliss.

Little Snow Angel

Yesterday we woke up to a winter wonderland around here.
Emerson decided to go along with the winter theme as she was selecting her outfit for the day.

I thought she looked like a cute little lamb in this picture.

Approximately 3 minutes into wearing this outfit she
spit up all over her dress.
She sure didn't smell cute during church.
BTW, those hairy arms and man hands holding her up are Doug's, not mine--
in case you're wondering.

This morning she woke up from her nap looking slightly less angelic.
"Scary" was more along the lines of what I was thinking.
Time to cut those claws fingernails.

Just Girls

Emerson had her weekly photo shoot this afternoon.
This week she was sporting a cute little pink plaid number.
The plaid felt wintery and festive :)

And we added the boots, of course.

My little girl is starting to like the camera!

Emerson and I then spent the next half an hour lying under the Christmas tree talking to one another.  She really should have been napping, but we needed a little girl time.

Here she is talking to me and the camera.

Gotta love a little girl time :)

I *heart* Emerson

I'm at home with the kids this morning... not at church.  Why?  Caleb has pink eye... and a cold... and his asthma's acting up :(  I guess it could be worse.  He could have the flu too.  And at least this time around I don't have to worry about him being banned from daycare until the pink eye clears up!

So!  Even though Emerson really didn't need to change out of her PJ's I figured I might as well dress her up.  Besides, I forgot to take pictures of her a couple of Sundays ago, so maybe I should make up for that one.  Caleb may not look all that great today, but Emerson sure does!

All this outfit is missing is a pair of leg warmers :)

What a serious face.

Every little lady needs a pair of cute boots.

These pictures were taken pre-morning nap.
She was quite serious and drowsy.
I couldn't resist posting these pictures too.  Too cute.

I'm really loving our weekly photo shoots.  Sometimes I don't really notice how much Emerson is growing up and changing from week to week-- until I look back at some of the pictures taken during previous weeks.  I plan to keep taking them!!

*Thanks Auntie Trish for such a cute dress!!!*

Christmas cookies & more...

Let the Christmas cookie decorating commence!
This weekend Caleb and the other Little Toewsies got together to do some cookie decorating.

They took their job very seriously.
As you can see... the sprinkles were flying.

It was a spontaneous cookie decorating party... so I had to scrounge around in my kitchen to find decorating supplies-- I managed to find some of those candy cover black licorice goodies.  They looked festive and colorful, the kids loved decorating with them... but after the cookies were eaten I found little pieces of half chewed black licorice pieces all over the kitchen.  I asked for it.

Silas was not so into the decorating.  Eating was more his style.  Actually, licking off the icing and discarding the cookie was his preferred activity.

Last Sunday I forgot to take and post a picture of Emerson in her Sunday best.  I was scolded in church this morning for the slip up :)  So, here's this week's cute little outfit.
Emerson decided against a dress this morning-- since she had a few new items to wear after our shopping trip earlier in the week.

Hello jeggings.

And every girl needs a pair of sparkly gold flats-- gotta match Mama :)

And Daddy walks into the room.  Emerson likes her Daddy.

And a pink headband compliments of Mama.

Oh Emerson, what a big girl you are!

Hey Cutie

Oh my... look at those chubby cheeks.

Here's my little lady in her Sunday best... recognize this dress Auntie Angie?

I just can't help myself... these headbands are so cute.
I'll admit, I've got a little headband crazy.
Why shouldn't Emerson have one in every color to match her outfits?

And while I'm outfitting Emerson in cute little outfits, this is what my boys are doing... dressing Caleb up in Daddy's winter gear and trying to make him look tall by putting him on the stairs.  Oh boys.
